Gordon C. Morse, of Williamsburg, former special assistant and
speechwriter for the Baliles Administration, is the 2002 Arthur Owens
guest lecturer at Ferrum College. He will speak on The Price of
Populism in the Grousbeck Music Center auditorium on April 22,
at 7:30 p.m. Morse is an outspoken critic of the Republican fiscal policies of most of the 1990s. His latest op/ed, which ran in the March 3, 2002 Washington Post, cited a decade of deceptive, sham politics (which has) caught up with the Commonwealth as a major factor in Virginias current economic woes. |
