The Student Engagement and Leadership Office
at Ferrum College will host a fundraiser in support of Kevin Board
on Saturday, April 21. Board, a junior sports management major and
captain of the men’s tennis team, is in need of a kidney transplant
and will undergo surgery this summer.
The College will host an all-day tennis event
April 21st from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. The day’s activities will include
a silent auction from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., a free children’s clinic
from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, and an attempt to log 100 sets of tennis.
Join us for a day of fun & friendship
as we raise funds for Kevin. All ages & tennis levels are welcome.
To reserve a time slot to play or for more information, please call
(540) 365-4306. Otherwise, just come to the Burrows-Skeens Tennis
Complex on the Ferrum College campus with a racket and a smile. Extra
rackets will be available. Refreshments will be provided and we’ll
have raffles drawn throughout the day. We will also have a donations
center at the tennis courts.
All proceeds will go to Kevin Board and his
family, in an effort to offset expenses for the kidney transplant.
Board is the son of Barbara and Tony Mills of Rocky Mount, and Ken
Board of Glade Hill.
Local and national companies continue to donate
items for the silent auction. Contact information for anyone wishing
to donate items for the auction or make a financial donation are listed
