Nicole Parris, a 1992 graduate from Ferrum College, is receiving national acclaim for her very first novel, The 8th Journal. New York Times Best Selling Author, Ellen Tanner March says, “The cast of secondary characters are a colorful delight, the pace never flags, and readers will find the ending of this rollicking adventure… coming of age story more than satisfying.”

In what started out as a dare, Nicole spent twelve months creating a 457-page romantic adventure story about a young woman who discovers a mysterious antique journal. The journal gives the main character, 18-year old Holly Anderson, a 48-day deadline to decide what to do with them. What follows is a fun, romantic page-turner that will keep readers entertained and guessing to the very end.

Nicole Parris is from Colonial Heights Virginia. She graduated from Ferrum College with a degree in Marketing. She continued her education at Virginia State University, where she earned a master’s degree in education.

In 1996, Nicole and her husband relocated to Glen Allen. After working in the advertising business for three years, she changed careers and worked as a successful loan officer for a large financial institution. In 2001, she and her husband opened the doors to Atlas Mortgage & Financial Services, Inc., as partners in the mortgage business. It wasn’t until 2005 that Nicole had some spare time to really give her first passion a try: writing. Parris says, “A huge fan of the media world, I took what I loved from the big screen and attempted to give my audience a great, ‘outside the box’ story.”

The 8th Journal is available for sale online at Amazon.com, Borders.com and through additional wholesale and retail channels worldwide.
