    Nicole Parris, a 1992 graduate from Ferrum College, is receiving national acclaim for her very first novel, The 8th Journal.      In what started out as a dare, Nicole spent twelve months creating a 457-page romantic adventure story about a young woman who discovers a mysterious antique journal. The journal gives the main character, 18-year old Holly Anderson, a 48-day deadline to decide what to do with them. What follows is a fun, romantic page-turner that will keep readers entertained and guessing to the very end.

     Nicole Parris is from Colonial Heights Virginia. She graduated from Ferrum College with a degree in Marketing. She continued her education at Virginia State University, where she earned a master’s degree in education.

     In 1996, Nicole and her husband relocated to Glen Allen. After working in the advertising business for three years, she changed careers and worked as a successful loan officer for a large financial institution. In 2001, she and her husband opened the doors to Atlas Mortgage & Financial Services, Inc., as partners in the mortgage business. It wasn’t until 2005 that Nicole had some spare time to really give her first passion a try: writing. Parris says, “A huge fan of the media world, I took what I loved from the big screen and attempted to give my audience a great, ‘outside the box’ story.”
