Ferrum College SIFE Team Offers Financial Literacy

| Do you feel overwhelmed by credit card debt? Are you currently unable to manage your finances? Do you know how healthy your finances are? Do you know your credit score and how to protect yourself from identity theft? If you have been tossing and turning at night worrying about these financial issues and more, the Ferrum College SIFE teams wants to help you. As part of Ferrum College’s theme, Social and Economic Justice: Local and Global Connections, the Ferrum College SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise) Team, with assistance from members of its Business Advisory Board and business faculty, will be offering free seminars every Monday beginning October 8th. The seminars will be held from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. in Beckham Hall Room 204 on the Ferrum College campus. They are designed to help students and surrounding community members with various financial issues, including loans, budgeting, tax planning, savings and budgeting just to name a few. Dr. Demetri Tsanacas, the SIFE Advisor says, “The financial literacy seminars seek to empower the participants to successfully make decisions about their financial future by exposing them to concepts, tools and application techniques addressing all major areas of financial planning.
