The Jack
Tale Players and the Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre will present an
evening of music and stories on March 1 in Sale Theatre, Schoolfield
Hall, Ferrum College at 7:30 p.m. The performance is part of a
tribute to the late Nellie McCaslin, a long-time friend, advisor,
and actress to Ferrum College’s drama programs.
The tribute is part of an international commemoration to the work
and influence that McCaslin had on creative drama and children’s
theatre around the world. More than forty performances and workshops
will be given during the month of March with participants from
Taiwan, Turkey, Australia, and Great Britain as well as Chicago,
New York, and Ferrum. |
Jody D. Brown, Executive Director or the
Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre, and R. Rex Stephenson, Director of the
Jack Tale Players were invited to be participants in this international
tribute by its organizers at New York University.
The Jack Tale Players will be joined by the
Franklin County High School drama department to present an evening
of toe-tapping music, fast-paced action dramatizing the stories unique
to the Southern Highlands.
While admission to this tribute is free, audience
members are invited to make a donation to the Franklin County Humane
Society. The Jack Tale Players and the Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre are
inviting these donations because working for animal welfare was one
of Dr. McCaslin’s life-long concerns.
