Ferrum College will host two fall open houses, called Panther Previews, on October 14th and November 11th, 2006 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will be a special session at 9:15 a.m. for any athletes interested in playing sports at Ferrum. After registration there will be student and parent panels for the open house guests and an Academic Division Fair with presentations. A Complimentary Luncheon will be served in the Franklin Dining Hall prior to campus tours. The campus bookstore will be open from 9:00 to 3:00 for anyone interested in Ferrum College merchandise.

Open House programs offer opportunities to obtain information about Ferrum College. High school juniors and seniors, as well as transfer students are welcome to attend the open house. The College’s $25.00 application fee will be waived to anyone who submits a completed application during the event.

“Word is getting out about how great Ferrum is! We welcome all area college-bound students who are interested in the opportunities that a small, private college has to offer. We’ll have a lot of great information that any student or family needs when looking at the higher education investment,” adds Ferrum Director of Admissions, Gilda Woods.

     The weekend features:

  • Student and Parent Information Panels: Representatives of Ferrum's faculty, staff and current students share information and respond to questions about what it is really like to be a part of the Ferrum College learning community.
  • Academic Fair: Families have the opportunity to meet faculty and explore one or more of Ferrum's 36 diverse academic majors.
  • Lunch: Experience a meal prepared by Ferrum College's very own "Chef Bo" in the dining hall.
  • Tours of Campus: Current Ferrum students will lead small groups on tours of the campus and residence halls.
  • Special Session for Athletes: Students interested in participating in one of Ferrum's 14 intercollegiate sports have the opportunity to talk with athletic staff and athletes.
