| The
journal Virginia Libraries (VL) has been selected for publication in
Ebsco's Library / Information Sciences & Technology Abstracts (LISTA),
an internationally published database of library journals. Virginia
Libraries is edited by Cy Dillon, Director of the Library and Chair
of the Academic Support Division at Ferrum College.
VL is already part of Wilson's Omnifile
database, is indexed in Library Literature, and is archived by the Virginia
Tech Scholarly Communications Project.
Virginia Libraries is a quarterly journal
published by the Virginia Library Association whose purpose is to develop,
promote, and improve library and information services and the profession
of librarianship in order to advance literacy and learning and to ensure
access to information in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The journal,
distributed to the membership, is used as a vehicle for members to exchange
information, ideas, and solutions to mutual problems in professional
articles on current topics in the library and information field.
EBSCO Publishing is the world’s most
prolific aggregator of full text journals, magazines and other sources.
EBSCO is also a leading provider of popular secondary databases such
as MLA International Bibliography, CINAHL® , PsycINFO® and others. To
bridge the gap between citation-only results in these collections and
the complete full text record desired by the end user, EBSCO has worked
diligently to become the industry leader in linking technology. This
linking enables users to seamlessly access full text information from
virtually all library holdings, and provides this capability from a
single access point - EBSCOhost.
