Sunday, February 20th, Ferrum College will participate in the V-Day College Campaign with a benefit production of Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues” at 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. in Sale Theater. Student Admission is $3.00 and General Admission is $5.00. Proceeds will be donated to the Franklin County Family Resources Center, the Citizens Against Family Violence in Henry and Patrick Counties and the women of Iraq. This play contains adult language and themes.
V-Day is a global movement to stop violence against women and girls. V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money, and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. Through benefit performances of “The Vagina Monologues,” unique documentary film projects and innovative gatherings designed to change social attitudes toward violence, V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop worldwide violence against women and girls including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM), and sexual slavery. In its first seven years, the V-Day movement has raised over $25 million. The 'V' in V-Day stands for Victory, Valentine and Vagina. For more information, please visit www.vday.org.

The V-Day College Campaign strives to empower women to find their collective voices and demand an end to the epidemic levels of violence and abuse on their campuses, in their communities and around the world. Through benefit productions of “The Vagina Monologues” on or around V-Day (February 14th) they raise money and awareness to stop violence against women and girls. The proceeds from these events are donated directly to local organizations in the community that are working to stop this violence.
