Ferrum College Hosts Annual Spring Concert of Jazz, Classical and Gospel

      Ferrum College will host its Spring Concert featuring the combined talents of the Jazz Ensemble, the Classical Ensemble, and the Gospel Choir on April 23, 2005. The program will be held at 7:30p.m. in the Sale Theatre of Schoolfield Hall on the Ferrum campus. Admission is free although donations of canned goods will be accepted for the St. James Center Food Bank.

      The Choirs will perform various musical selections from popular themes to traditional classical and charismatic spirituals. The Gospel Choir will present uplifting gospel music in traditional, urban, and contemporary styles. The jazz band will present a variety of styles from traditional favorites to more contemporary selections by Ray Charles and Carlos Santana. The classical ensemble will also be performing standards from the repertoire, as well as a Joplin arrangement. This program will provide entertainment for the entire family.
