Five students at Ferrum College, in Ferrum, Virginia, have been elected
at the Student Government Association (SGA) Cabinet and will be serving
until Spring 2006.
The Cabinet is composed of Wayne Brockwell,
president, a senior Criminal Justice and Political Science major from
Lawrenceville, VA; Ryan Hall, legislative vice president, is a junior
and Political Science major from Louisa County, VA; Aundrea Burton,
secretary, is a junior and Sports Management major from Potomac Falls,
VA; Melissa Jones, vice president of student activities, is a junior
Business major from Roanoke, VA; and David Gartrell, treasurer, a junior
Political Science major from Hamilton, VA.
The SGA is responsible for sponsoring cultural,
educational, recreational, and social programs to enhance student life
and services. The Cabinet acts as a communicator between students and
the college. Current students are welcome to come share their ideas
and opinions at the Cabinet regular weekly meetings.
SGA President Wayne Brockwell comments, “The
combination of experienced student leaders with ones that have fresh
ideas has worked out tremendously.”
SGA Secretary Aundrea Burton concurs, “Being
a leader at Ferrum is an awesome experience and it helps me to become
more involved and know the people around me better. The cabinet for
2005-2006 is awesome and I am so excited and proud to be working with
them.”
