Ferrum
College announced today that Dr. Leslie T. Lambert has accepted the
position of Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College.
Dr. Lambert will leave her current role as Professor and Director of
the Center for Education and Innovation in the Liberal Arts at Roanoke
College in Salem, VA.
"I am thrilled with the opportunity
to be joining Ferrum College at such a promising time in the institution’s
history. The excitement, optimism and energy are palpable. As I have
had the opportunity to meet the people who embody what is Ferrum College,
I have been drawn in consistently by the sense of place and the level
of commitment they share. These impressions have communicated the deep
and abiding values that frame the core of the Ferrum College experience.

Dr. Lambert said.
Dr. Lambert continued, “I am honored
to be joining together with my new colleagues and look forward to working
with faculty, administrators, trustees and students as we merge our
thinking and energies together toward exciting new horizons.”

In 2001-2002 Dr. Lambert served as Interim
Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College for Roanoke
College. For eight years she served as Chairperson of the Department
of Education, Health and Human Performance in which she has taught since
1993. She also taught at Mercer University and the University of Wyoming.
Dr. Lambert has a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Georgia and
a B.S. from Averett College.
