  FERRUM COLLEGE BEGINS DEGREE COMPLETION PROGRAM IN ROANOKE

    Beginning this fall, Ferrum College will begin its degree completion program for bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Management and Criminal Justice at the Roanoke High Education Center. With the appropriate number and type of prior college credits transferred to Ferrum College, students may complete a bachelor’s degree in fewer than 18 months. Coursework is sequenced and builds on prior classes, providing an integrated educational experience. In keeping with an applied liberal arts education, the curriculum emphasizes a broad array of perspectives, while focusing on career enhancement. The dynamics of the classroom are based on applying theories and concepts to real-world settings. Student experience and faculty expertise are integrated to create a stimulating learning environment differing from the traditional lecture format. The degree completion process requires the following hour totals: Criminal Justice Major, 45 semester hours; Business Administration with an Emphasis in Management Major, 52 semester hours. All classes will be held at the Roanoke Higher Education Center.

      The students of the Ferrum College Adult Education Program will receive the same top-quality education and diploma offered to our undergraduate students. All faculty members possess a combination of scholarly and academic credentials, practical experience in the field, and a commitment to the mission of the school.

      In order to be admitted to this new program you must have: A minimum of three years of full-time work experience; Completion of an Associate degree or a minimum of 50 transferable college credits (may count toward general education requirements or electives); Attendance at an informational meeting or individual appointment with an admissions Counselor; A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher; And finally, students must have access to Internet and personal email accounts. Completion of the Enrollment Process requires a completed application with $25 non-refundable fee and official transcripts from every college attended.

      Students enrolled in the adult degree completion programs are considered full-time if enrolled in twelve credit hours per semester and may qualify for federal and state financial aid programs. By the first night of instruction, all students must have completed and filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or have settled his or her account with the Ferrum College Business Office
