Juried Student Art Show Debuts at Ferrum

    Students enrolled in a studio class this semester at Ferrum College will be entered into the 2004 Juried Student Show, exhibiting November 17 through December 2, in the E. Taylor Greer Gallery, Stanley Library. A reception will be held November 18, 3:30 p.m. until 5 p.m.  The art exhibit is free to the public and is open during Stanley Library hours, but donations of non-perishable food to benefit the St. James Community Center Food Bank are welcome.

     Each studio class student must enter a minimum of two art projects and a maximum of three.   There will be entries from drawing, painting, two-dimensional design, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, photography, jewelry, printmaking, computer art and graphics. The art faculty, will award 18 ribbons: six blue ribbons of excellence, six red ribbons of merit, and six yellow ribbons of honorable mention.  

      The viewers will be given a chance to vote for their favorite work of art.   Near the end of the reception, the piece with the most votes will be awarded the People's Choice Award.   For more information, contact Ed Gloria at (540)-365-4518 or egloria@ferrum.edu.
