Ferrum College junior Jamie Peters has accepted an internship with Congressman Virgil H. Goode, Jr. of Virginia’s 5th District in Washington, DC this summer. Peters will work in the DC office of Representative Goode from May 10 through June 5.

Peters duties will include responding to constituent correspondence, serving as a tour guide of the Capitol, relaying messages to Goode and his staff, keeping up with district-related news, familiarizing herself with sponsored and cosponsored legislation, legislative research, data entry, briefing attendance and special projects.

“Jamie has a wonderful blend of skills and personality that make her extremely efficient and accurate in the behind the scenes work as well as the kind of spokesperson we want out front representing Ferrum College,” said Gilda Woods, Director of Admissions and Peters’ past work supervisor.

Ferrum College is a four-year, private, co-educational, liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Ferrum offers a choice of nationally recognized bachelor’s degree programs at a cost well below the national average for private colleges. For more information on Ferrum, visit www.ferrum.edu.
