Ferrum College will offer an eight week course in public speaking on Wednesday evenings starting on January 28 and ending March 24, 2004 (no class will be held on March 3). The courses will be held at the Roanoke Higher Education Center at 108 South Jefferson Street in Roanoke, VA. Cost for the course is $750. The public speaking course will be taught by the Chaplain and Instructor of Public Speaking at Ferrum College, the Reverend Wes Astin. "Anyone who has ever had to stand in front of a group of people understand how difficult that can be. This course will help anyone who has ever or may be called on to address a group, large or small, to develop the necessary skills in oral communication. We will study speech construction and delivery, audience analysis, listening skills, along with fundamental voice and body control. It's sure to be a fun class!" For further registration and information about the course or Adult Programs at Ferrum College, please contact Ms. Jackie Scruggs at 540-767-6080 or by email at jrscruggs@ferrum.edu.
