The mediums of Gloria’s works are clay and paints. Gloria says his works illustrate how his early experiences with ceramics bridged his development into painting. His early paintings are abstractions of landscapes, while his later paintings are recognizable images that incorporate the same palette of colors. He says his later works “have a more personal and inward feel.” Moore uses paint in his works. Many of his paintings investigate issues arising from the aftermath of September 11, 2001. Gloria says, “The body of images are only a fragment of Moore’s investigations dealing with the different beliefs and convictions of various cultures.” For more information, contact Edward Gloria at (540) 365-4518.
