The Collegiates will perform various sacred and secular pieces, including “Let Me Entertain You” and “Precious Lord, Take My Hand.” To show off the choir’s talent, the men will sing “Barbershop Blues” and the women will sing “Hey, Big Spender.” “Movin’ On” will feature Susan Spataro, instructor of music and accompanist for the Concert Choir, on the flute. To help ring in the Spring, the Handbell Ensemble will play popular classics such as “I Worship the King,” “Edelweiss” from “The Sound of Music,” and Pachelbel’s “Canon,” as well as other original pieces. The Concert Choir will perform the classics of Vivaldi and Gershwin, as well as “Gloria,” a Latin piece by Mozart. Their program includes a medley from the musical “West Side Story,” which will feature individual songs for men’s and women’s voices. The choir will also perform “This is the Day” by local composer and professor of music Dr. Gary Evans. The performance is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Dr. Erma Rose at (540) 365-4341. Ferrum College is a four-year, private, co-educational, liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
