Five students at Ferrum College, in Ferrum, Virginia, have been elected at the Student Government Association (SGA) Cabinet and will be serving until spring 2004. The Cabinet is composed of Joanna Bosik, president, a senior from Wilmington, Delaware; Wayne Brockwell, legislative vice president, a sophomore from Lawrenceville, Virginia; Casey Vassar, secretary, a junior from Richmond, Virginia; Jen Phillips, vice president of student activities, a junior from Ferrum, Virginia; and Danielle Swanson, treasurer, a senior from Chesapeake, Virginia. The SGA is responsible for sponsoring cultural, educational, recreational, and social programs to enhance student life and services. The Cabinet acts as a communicator between students and the college. Current students are welcome to come share their ideas and opinions at the Cabinet regular weekly meetings. “The Cabinet has a lot of energy and enthusiasm for this school year. They have been working hard,” said Rich Long, the director of student activities and leadership. Ferrum College is a four-year, private, co-educational, liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Ferrum offers a choice of nationally recognized bachelor’s degree programs at a cost well below the national average for private colleges.
