Ferrum College will host a free seminar called “The Teaching Profession” for high school juniors and seniors, as well as community college students, who wish to pursue a career in education. The workshop will be at the Roanoke Higher Education Center, 108 North Jefferson Street, Roanoke, beginning at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2003. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 9:30 a.m. A variety of topics will be covered, ranging from a college admissions process to support programs for students to special teaching programs. Adults who wish to changes career fields or to complete their bachelor’s degree may also attend. Parents or guardians are welcome to join the sessions.
