BROCHURE
The Pre-Professional Science curriculum provides a rigorous foundation
and yet maximum flexibility for a student with specific professional
goals in science and is particularly appropriate for pre-medical,
pre-dental, pre-veterinary, and for students interested in forensic
science. Beyond the core of required courses, a student may develop
a program of study with a specific emphasis or a broad introduction
to several fields of science. Also, this major can be adapted for
the specific needs of those students interested in graduate school
in the interdisciplinary life sciences or in secondary education
with endorsements in more than one science.
Required Courses:
BIO 101, 201 (or 254 or 301), 305 (or 202 or 306) 12 credits
CHM 103, 104 General Chemistry 8 credits
CHM 301, 302 Organic Chemistry 8 credits
PHY 203, 204 Foundations of Physics 8 credits
MTH 211, 212 Calculus 6 credits
MTH 208 Statistics 3 or 4 credits
19 Credit Hours of elective courses specific to the student's professional
goals; at least 15 at the 300-400 level.
