Cabin Fever - not scary but gruesome

Cabin Fever- the typical teen horror flick.

On September 12, "Cabin Fever" was released. The film was directed and produced by Eli Roth. The film’s cast consisted of Rider Strong (Boy Meets World), Jordan Ladd, Joey Kern, Cerina Vincent and James Debello. With the exception of Rider Strong, the majority of the cast can be considered as a group of young, up-and-coming actors.

Like any other horror film "Cabin Fever’s" plot consists of sex, beer and drugs. The film’s setting takes place in a secluded cabin in the middle of the woods (located in High Point, NC).

Like most horror films, "Cabin Fever" is a film about five young college students that are ready to break all the horror film rules. The group sets off to celebrate there finished college career with sex, drugs and beer, which ends up in a masquerade of bloody deaths. Unlike films such as "Friday the 13th" and 'Halloween," "Cabin Fever" lacks a psychotic killer. With nowhere to run and hide, the characters of "Cabin Fever" are plagued with an unusual illness that kills them one by one.

The film is not so much scary as it is gruesome. If you can’t handle the sight of blood then you can’t handle "Cabin Fever." With all honesty this is a film that can wait till video and DVD. Don’t waste your money on it there are other horror films out to help set the mood for Halloween that might be better money spent.
