On Easter, Professor Sasha Saari invited all of the international students at Ferrum college to her house. They had a nice lunch together and had a great time at her house. Western Virginia International Educators Meeting - 03/04/04 Western Virginia International Educators Meeting was held at the Roanoke Higher Education Center on the 4th of March. Professor Saari, Director of International Programs, Bettye Buckingham, Director of Multicultural Education, Julie Nix, Admission staff, and Jin Han, Assistant to Professor Saari, attended the meeting. At the meeting, Professor Saari gave a presentation and led a discussion concerning "Adding Diversity in Study Abroad." Visit the Website of W.V.I.E. Pictures from the Meeting The Russian Music Concert - 02/22/04 International students, Jin Han and Anna Korshakova, attended a concert of Russian Liturgical and Folk music in Roanoke with members of the Russian Club at Ferrum College. Holocaust Museum Trip - 02/19/04 Some international students joined the Holocaust class field trip to the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. Pictures from the Holocaust Trip International Students Day - 02/11/04 The Kiwanis Club of Roanoke, an American civic and service organization, sponsored lunch in honor of International Students on Feb. 11th. The Club invited some international students from colleges around Roanoke. Anna Korshakova and Jin Han represented Ferrum College and gave a short speech. Pictures from the International Students Day Happy Birthday Mina! - 02/01/04 Mina Ayob's 25th Birthday Party was held in Ayob's room on February 1st. Professor Saari and Bettye Buckingham, Director of Multicultural Education, joined the party and helped Mina celebrate her 25th birthday. Many international students, as well as some American students, also attended Pictures from her Birthday Roanoke City Tour - 01/24/04 The Director of International Programs, Professor Saari, gave a brief Roanoke City tour to some of the international students on January 24th. The tour included lunch at the International Food Court in downtown Roanoke and shopping at several shopping centers. Pictures from the Tour Club Fair - 01/21/04 The Office of International Programs at Ferrum College had a booth at "Club Fair." The Office displayed materials related to study abroad programs. Pictures at Club Fair Martin Luther King Celebration Ceremony - 01/19/04 The Office of International Students supported the Martin Luther King's birthday Celebration Ceremony on January 19th. Some of the International Students said the famous words of Dr. King, "I have a Dream" in their own languages. Ferrum College is happy to have two new exchange students from Sejong University, South Korea, GeeHyun Park and Mina Lee studying on our campus.
