Van Drivers
On-Call
Do you enjoy being around young adults? Are you extremely responsible? Are you looking for a change of pace or some additional income without the demands of a full or part-time job? Do you have some flexibility in your schedule?
Ferrum College is accepting applications for on-call Van Drivers to assist in meeting the transportation needs of Ferrum College. A CDL is required. Vehicles used will be College-owned. Responsibilities may include transporting students on College-sponsored field trips, to special events, or a multitude of other off-campus opportunities; performing routine fueling and pre-trip inspection of vehicles; and recordkeeping. This position may require some overnight travel.
Applicants must be over 21 years of age; have a current Virginia commercial drivers license and good driving record; have the ability to drive safely in all types traffic conditions in both rural and urban settings; and must be willing to submit to post-offer and annual background checks, including Motor Vehicle Report checks. Drivers may be required to undergo drug testing initially and periodically. Drivers are required to operate vehicles in accordance with the Ferrum College Vehicle Safety Policy and other College policies as procedures, as well as applicable state and federal laws.

Catering Technicians
On-Call
Ferrum College is currently seeking on-call Catering Technicians with professional demeanor to assist in the execution of all catering-related functions on our campus. Responsibilities include creating a positive dining experience for our guests by providing excellent table service; setting up and tearing down for catering events; and ensuring proper control of food, supplies, and property.
Experience in a catering/banquet style operation preferred. Excellent customer service skills required, as well as the ability to work with a diverse on- and off-campus constituency. Must have strong organizational skills, a high school diploma or equivalent and proficiency in simple mathematics, and be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift/carry up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
