Section 125 Cafeteria Plan
Under the Section 125 Cafeteria plan, you will be able to choose among certain benefits that the College makes available. The benefits that you may choose are outlined in the summary plan description (SPD). The SPD will also tell you about other important information concerning the Plan, such as the rules you must satisfy before you can join and the laws that protect your rights. One of the most important features of Ferrum's Plan is that the benefits being offered are generally ones that you are already paying for, but normally with money that has first been subject to income and Social Security taxes. Under Ferrum's Plan, these same expenses will be paid for with a portion of your pay before Federal and State income or Social Security taxes are withheld. This means that you will pay less tax and have more money to spend and save.
Read this summary plan description carefully so that you understand the provisions of the amended Plan and the benefits you will receive. You should direct any questions you have to the Administrator. There is a plan document on file in the Human Resources Office, John Wesley Hall, Room 205, which you may review if you desire.

Tuition Exchange, Inc.www.tuitionexchange.org
Ferrum College belongs to Tuition Exchange, Inc., a national organization that administers multilateral tuition remission scholarships for employees of member colleges and universities. The TE program is offered to dependent children of full-time administrators, faculty, and staff.
Tuition Exchange scholarships are not guaranteed to applicants. Member institutions apply their own admissions standards and are free to choose among applicants. Also, students are expected to meet standards for academic performance and personal conduct.
For details about Tuition Exchange and a list of participating institutions, please see www.tuitionexchange.org.
The Council of Independent Colleges (CIC)www.cic.edu
The CIC Tuition Exchange Program addresses two needs: Encourages dependents of employees of private colleges and universities to attend similar institutions; and assists these families in meeting the partial cost of college attendance. The program consists of a network of CIC colleges and universities willing to accept – tuition free – students from full-time employee families of other CIC institutions. Each participating institution in the Network agrees to accept a limited number of students from other colleges on the same admission basis as they accept all other students. Students are responsible for all non-tuition charges – board, room, and fees – at the institution in which they enroll.
For details about CIC and a list of participating institutions, please see www.cic.edu.
