Dear Ferrum Community,
On behalf of Ferrum College students, faculty and staff, I extend a heartfelt “thank
you” to you for all you’ve done for us during the past year. Your contributions of
time, talent, energy and financial gifts help to keep the positive momentum going
on campus and throughout the region. We are grateful that you continue to demonstrate
your belief in, and support of, our mission to educate deserving students to be productive
citizens in our communities. In the fiscal year 2011–2012, you helped to raise a record
$2.7 million to help provide our students with academic programs and experiential
opportunities to help them on this journey.
As you know from recent communications and by the articles and information included
in this issue of the magazine, we have begun the Ferrum College Centennial Celebration!
This special time in the history of the College allows us the opportunity to reflect
on the exciting growth of the College as well as to honor our past. When you read
about the role of the United Methodist Women in the founding of the College or how
so many of us continue to live the College motto of “Not Self, But Others,” I hope
you will demonstrate your pride in Ferrum by joining us in the festivities—especially
for the big celebration on campus in October.
I thank you again and remind you that your gifts, now and in the future, underwrite
improvements not only on campus but also in students’ lives by providing them with
safe residence halls, the best technology updates, skilled faculty, professional staff,
competitive athletic facilities and so much more. We have so many reasons to “Be Ferrum
With warm regards,
