Why should I support the Ferrum Fund?
Current students depend on the support of alumni and friends of the College to make their Ferrum experience that much more fulfilling. When you support the Ferrum Fund, you are helping mold a Ferrum student’s future by ensuring that they receive the best education possible. You are also adding value to a Ferrum degree by enhancing the College’s academic offerings and co-curricular programs.
How is money raised for the Ferrum Fund each year?
Money is raised for the Ferrum Fund through two annual, student-led phonathons; mailings to alumni, parents, and friends of the College; and through the support of churches, community businesses, and corporations.
How much should I give?
The amount of your gift is your decision to make. Every gift counts and provides a number of opportunities to current Ferrum students. Give from your heart as you reflect on what Ferrum means to you, the community, and to young people who desire the unique education Ferrum can provide.
What is the Ferrum Fund goal?
The Ferrum Fund has two goals: a monetary threshold needed to meet the College’s annual expenses and an alumni participation percentage rate.
What is alumni participation and why is it so important?
Alumni participation is the percentage of alumni who support Ferrum. Each year, colleges and universities are ranked based on a number of criteria, including Alumni participation. It is also a favorable determinant for outside corporations and foundations when considering whether to fund grant requests from the College.
Will I be recognized for supporting this fund?
Every donor who makes a gift to the Ferrum Fund, regardless of size, is listed in the Honor Roll of Donors. Other means of recognition are the Ruth and Arthur Societies. Donors who give $1,000 within a fiscal year to the Ferrum Fund are recognized through membership in the Arthur Society. Donors who make a gift to the College for ten consecutive years are recognized through their induction into the Ruth Society.
