Sanders Family Christmas opens at the Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre (BRDT) July 15th, and continues until August 2nd. Like the other two Sanders' Family musicals done by the dinner theatre, this musical features more than twenty-five Gospel and Blue Grass songs. The play, directed by R. Rex Stephenson, takes place on Christmas Eve of 1941. All the same characters return to perform at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, except Dennis, who has joined the Marines.
Connie Ray and Alan Bailey have created an enchanting country musical, this time with a Christmas theme. Again, the family gives their own special testimonials, and Reverend Oglethorpe takes this opportunity to propose to one of the Sanders girls.
The dinner theatre hasn't performed Sanders Family Christmas since 2002. The show was reprised this season because many patrons requested it.
The musical includes Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre veterans Emily Rose Tucker, Jody D. Brown, John Isner, Chandra Diesel, Morgan Price, Katie Edson, and Peter Nolte.
For more information about Sanders Family Christmas, or tickets, call 540-365-4335 or visit the Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre site. The BRDT is located on the campus of Ferrum College.
