Kandinsky Trio Ferrum College is excited to announce that The Kandinsky Trio will perform during the college’s cultural arts series on September 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Grousbeck Auditorium. The performance is free and open to the public.

The Kandinsky Trio was founded in 1987 and its musicians - Elizabeth Bachelder, violin, Alan Weinstein, cello, and Benedict Goodfriend, piano - have established themselves as one of America's foremost chamber ensembles. In addition to concerts in the Roanoke area, the Kandinsky Trio has appeared in recital, on radio and television broadcasts, and has received an array of honors and awards. According to the group's website, one of the Kandinsky's missions is "to keep alive the performance of some of the greatest music ever written in a time when shrinking audiences and invasive popular culture threaten its existence."

Ferrum College's Director of Performing and Visual Arts Operations, Wayne Bowman, says, "The Kandinsky Trio is a world class classical music ensemble that has done stunning performances around the globe for decades. Audiences of all ages have been entertained and thrilled by their mastery of classical music. The wonderful thing is that they come to us through the generous support of the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the Ferrum College School of Arts and Humanities."

For more information about this performance, contact Wayne Bowman at (540) 365-4338 or wbowman@ferrum.edu
