Internationally Acclaimed Dancer Comes to Ferrum College for Special Recital on September 16th

Padmarani Rasiah Cantu, an internationally acclaimed and versatile dancer, is coming to Ferrum College to perform an East Indian Dance recital on September 16th in the Sale Theatre. The performance begins at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.Hailing from Sri Lanka, Padma has performed in many countries and has earned accolades from audiences and critics alike. She has studied with eminent master teachers Padmashri Adyar K. Lakshman and the V. P. Dhananjayans and has been a performing artist with the Virginia Commission for the Arts for the past 18 years. She has presented her students at college and university dance recitals and has conducted workshops and residencies in California, Washington and throughout Virginia.
For the past 20 years, Padma has been a senior instructor at the "Annual Summer Dance Camps" at Yogaville, Virginia. She has also helped coordinate annual "Naatya Adyayana Gurukulum" summer dance camps at Yogaville where she is also a senior instructor. Padma is an accomplished teacher, performer and choreographer.
