A Message From The President
Dear Ferrum Friends, Our spring semester, 2006, ended last week in spectacular fashion. From the dedication of Arthur Hall and our Board of Trustees meeting and Baccalaureate service on Friday, to the Commencement ceremonies and picnic lunch on Saturday morning, the days were filled with excitement and anticipation. The campus bustled with visiting dignitaries, guests, families and friends of our graduates, and our dedicated trustees, many of whom travel from as far away as California and Florida to be with us at our twice yearly Board meetings. Special thanks to those trustees who joined us on the platform during graduation (many of whom are Ferrum alums), N.L. Bishop, Peter Clements ‘77, Pat Compton, Elizabeth Dickerson, Ibby Greer, Wayne Harris, Paul Harris ’65 (the first Ferrum alum to be named chair of the Board), Al Latimer ’77, Rindy Lionberger, Esther Mabry, and Jud Mason ’67. Jud was also the recipient of the Benjamin F. Beckham Medallion, Ferrum’s highest alumni honor. This extraordinary place called Ferrum College would not exist without the love and care of all of you, our wonderful alumni and friends.
