The Holy Door of St. Mary Maggiore

This is a picture of Jason and me in front of the holy door of St. Mary’s basilica.  At each of the four major basilicas there is a holy door, which is opened every twenty-five years during the Jubilee.  Walking through the holy doors in the basilicas of St. Mary’s, St. Peter’s, St. John’s, and St. Paul’s symbolize the washing away of a person’s sins.  People will come to Rome during the holy year on a pilgrimage.
