Giving Options

Your gifts to Ferrum support many different aspects of life on the campus. All you need to do is let us know how you would like your gift directed. Our greatest need is for unrestricted gifts to the Ferrum Fund.

These unrestricted gifts are used wherever the College needs them most. Gifts to the Ferrum Fund have the largest impact on financial aid to students. Additionally you may direct your gift towards endowments, campus construction projects, or one of our many other programs.

When should I send my gift?

Ferrum College needs your support every year. The dollars provided through the Ferrum Fund are used for the immediate operating budget of the College. These funds are expendable and must be renewed annually in order for the College to meet its financial commitments.

Ferrum College’s fiscal year runs from July 1-June 30th. Our goal is that all gifts be renewed prior to the close of the fiscal year on June 30th. » Back to top

Giving societies

Arthur Society - A Society of Visionary Leaders
The Reverend Dr. C. Ralph Arthur served as Ferrum College’s 7th president, from 1954 to 1970. A prolific fundraiser, Dr. Arthur understood that Ferrum’s ultimate success was dependent upon support received from alumni and friends of the institution.

Through his extraordinary leadership and vision, Dr. Arthur left an indelible imprint on Ferrum College. His legacy continues today and is seen across campus in Ferrum’s beautiful facilities, educational excellence, athletic accomplishments, and financial strength.

To honor Dr. Arthur and encourage greater support for the College, Ferrum created an exclusive giving club known as The Arthur Society in July 2003. Alumni and friends may become members of The Arthur Society with annual gifts of at least $1,000 to the Ferrum Fund, which supports daily operations of the College including financial aid to students.

Ruth Society - A Society of Loyal Friends
Through the Ruth Society, Ferrum recognizes those most faithful alumni and friends who have made gifts to the College every year (July 1 to June 30) for the last ten years or longer.

Beckham Society - A Society of Legacy Builders
The Beckham Society recognizes the alumni and friends who have made Ferrum College a beneficiary of a deferred gift through their wills, trusts, life insurance policies, gift annuities, or other deferred gift arrangements. The Beckham Society is named in memory of Ferrum’s first president, Dr. Benjamin Beckham.
