This spring break, travel to the beautiful Western Highlands of Guatemala with other college students to be in service with Maya communities.
Students
will experience intimate interaction with the Maya people through the service
projects of building stoves in family homes, planting trees on the communityÕs
common land, and doing art projects with local Maya children.
The
trip will be a priceless opportunity to develop relationships with Maya
families, as well as with other Ferrum College students. There will be a number of educational
speakers, as well as opportunities to visit local attractions. Students will stay in safe, comfortable
accommodations nestled in the beautiful Guatemalan mountains.
This 8 day trip costs only $1,700 with all expenses included – airfare, accommodations, meals, travel insurance, service project materials, transportation, coordination, etc. In order to travel abroad, participants will only need a valid passport. Because participants are doing volunteer work, the trip fee and all other expenses associated with traveling to Guatemala are tax-deductible.
