Ferrum College employs a full-time Chaplain who is available for counseling and interested in helping students sort through the many different feelings that can accompany young adulthood and campus life. In addition to counseling, the Chaplain is interested in developing new programs that will be of interest to students. The Chaplain’s office is located in the Christian Ministries and Service Center. Come by and share your ideas or call extension 4286.

The Campus Ministries and Service Center (aka, The Lighthouse) is open in the evenings for student use. The Lighthouse provides wireless internet, a big screen television, pool table, foosball table, chess, ping pong, a full kitchen, and other rooms for studying and meetings. Also available on the hill behind the Lighthouse are a horseshoe pit and a fire pit. Come and spend your evenings at the Lighthouse!

College life is a time of exciting intellectual and social growth. Students consider new ideas, discover new interests, and explore ever-broadening horizons. College can also be a time for real spiritual growth. College offers students a chance to examine their faith to assess what is most important, and to forge a system of values that will sustain them throughout their adult years.

Growing out of its history of service and its affiliation with the United Methodist Church, Ferrum College is committed to creating an environment that encourages spiritual growth and development. As a result, Ferrum College offers a number of opportunities for students to celebrate life and explore God’s intention for human living.

There are many opportunities for students to get involved on campus with Campus Ministries. Ferrum Christian Fellowship (FCF) is a student led campus organization that offers a weekly worship service, Bible studies, and community service opportunities. See the FCF website for more information.

Ferrum College and St. James United Methodist Church have had a long standing relationship in ministry together. St. James UMC worships in the Village Church in Ferrum, VA. They have Sunday School at 10:00 am, and a Sunday morning worship service at 11:00. There is a covenant that explains the long standing relationship between Ferrum College and St. James UMC.
