Tests For Graduate School Admission Application forms and additional information are available at the CSO. GRE, LSAT, GMAT, and MCAT practice tests are available. Test dates are posted on websites (below) and are available from test centers and bulletins. Basic fees for 2003-04 are listed. You can expect a small increase each year. Dental Admissions Test (DAT) is designed to measure general academic ability, comprehension of scientific information, and perceptual ability Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) is a computer based test designed to measure certain mental capabilities important in the study of management at the graduate level (5 hours) www.mba.com/mba/TaketheGMAT ($250). Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a 4 hour long computer based test that measures general scholastic ability at the graduate level. Advanced tests (3 1/2 hours) for specific subjects are offered in 19 areas. www.gre.org ($140 for general test). Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is a written test to measure mental abilities deemed important in the study of law and thus, to aid law schools in assessing the academic promise of their applicants (4 1/2 hours) www.lsat.org ($127). Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is a written test designed to measure general academic ability, general information, and scientific ability (9 1/2 hours) www.aamc.org/students/mcat/start.htm ($210). Optometry College Admissions Test (OPCAT) is designed to measure general academic ability and scientific knowledge (4 hours) www.opted.org ($199). Note that many vet schools only require the GRE.
