Ferrum College Hosts Teaching and Learning Institute

Ferrum College was host to the Appalachian College Association's (ACA) Teaching and Learning Institute held June 3 - 7, 2013. ACA member faculty attended the week long workshop on campus focused upon college teaching and learning.

“Ferrum College was honored to host the ACA Teaching and Learning Institute this year. The TLI is an important faculty development opportunity for ACA member institutions," said Gail Summer, Ferrum College Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs. "Energy was high all week long as faculty gathered to learn from each other and invited keynote speakers. It is essential that faculty stay abreast of research-supported best practice, and the TLI helps make that possible.”

The Appalachian College Association is a non-profit consortium of 36 private four-year liberal arts institutions from the central Appalachian Mountains in Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. The ACA's Teaching and Learning Institute (TLI) serves member school faculty with a week-long college teaching and learning workshop presented by national experts and ACA master-teachers.
