Christmas Concert Set for Monday, December 9

This year’s musical welcome to the Christmas season will be held in Vaughn Chapel beginning at 7 p.m.

Ferrum, Va. (Nov. 22, 2013) – Ferrum College’s annual Christmas Concert will be held on Mon., Dec. 9, 2013 at 7 p.m. in Vaughn Chapel on campus. A musical welcome to the Christmas season, the evening will begin with well-known holiday music, followed by music from beloved Christmas films like “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” The last section of music will focus upon the true meaning of Christmas.

This year’s Christmas Concert will feature the talents of students in various music ensembles including the Concert Choir, under the direction of Ashley Cundiff and accompanied by Jeanne Banks; the Collegiates, directed and accompanied by Susan Spataro; and the Handbell Choir, also under Spataro’s direction. 

“There is music in this program to satisfy all ages and tastes. It is our wish to fill hearts with the joy of Christmas,” said Spataro, Ferrum College assistant professor of music and music program coordinator.

The program is free and open to the community. Donations of non-perishable food items for the St. James Food Bank will be welcomed.
