Put Cuffs on Cancer "Chalk It Up" 5k

Ferrum College and the Franklin County Family YMCA will host a colorful fundraising event, the Put Cuffs On Cancer “Chalk It Up” 5K, which will be held on campus Saturday, March 29, 2014. The run beginning at 12 PM will cover varied terrain including asphalt, concrete, gravel and grass.

Ferrum College Student Registration $15. All other registration $30.

For this year’s new “Chalk It Up” 5K theme, participants are encouraged to wear white as they will be covered in a variety of colored powders as they run to produce fun and unique patterns on both themselves and their clothing. The colored “chalk” is really non-toxic cornstarch that is 100% safe for people and the environment. Costumes are encouraged and there will be an award presented to the most colorful runner. Though the run is for fun, overall male and female awards will also be presented.

Awards:
This race is intended to be for fun, but there will be an overall Male and Female award. There will also be an award given to the most colorful runner (costumes are encouraged).
