Dr. Joe D. Stogner and Jane Duncan StognerFerrum College Faculty Emeriti Joe and Jane Stogner worked closely with College administrators to ensure that their Centennial Campaign gift would serve students and faculty for many years to come. It was most fitting when they made their decision to direct their gift toward the Mary Morton Parsons Challenge, which was a challenge gift to complete renovations in Garber Hall; in gratitude, the College will name a room in Garber Hall for them.

“We have an outstanding Board of Trustees committed to serve and guide the College in the right direction. We have been impressed with our dedicated alumni, who give of their time and support, and the large community of powerful and influential individuals who want to make a difference and believe in the Ferrum College mission,” says Joe.

Ferrum president Jennifer Braaten noted with gratitude the importance of  the Stogners'  gift to the College:

"Jane and Joe Stogner exemplify the synergy between arts and sciences.  While their impact on the lives of countless Ferrum students throughout the years is immeasurable, their gift to Garber Hall is a tangible expression of their generous hearts and their desire to continue serving our young men and women even after they have both  retired from teaching."

George Seals, Director of Planned & Principal Gifts:

“With this gift, Joe and Jane affirm their commitment to the students of Ferrum. The College’s Environmental Science program, which Joe founded, is well-known and one of the first in the nation. As home to the curriculum, Garber Hall provides a state-of-the-art facility and will help to continue this excellence well into the future.”
