Taryn Tretick (Agricultural Sciences major with Animal Science emphasis, Teacher Education minor, ‘20) chose to major in agriculture because her high school agriculture teacher was one of her biggest role models. During a conversation between the two, Taryn expressed concern over what to do when she graduated high school, and her instructor suggested she consider teaching. Now, as a sophomore at Ferrum College, Taryn knows she made the right choice: “I can’t think of any career that will be more rewarding than being a teacher. This career will provide me with opportunities to influence those who are the future of our country. This makes me so excited to be a part of the teaching program at Ferrum College. My internships have been so beneficial because I get to observe multiple teaching styles and techniques used for various grades and subject areas. Also, being in Greek life at Ferrum has given me a great support system from my fellow sisters of Delta Phi Epsilon who are also in the education program.”
