Inglot, Singh Share Men's Tennis  Player of the Year
Boland of Virginia and Somen of Virginia Tech Named Coach and Rookie of the Year.

Williamsburg, Va. - The University of Virginia Cavaliers headlined the Men’s Tennis – University Division – All-State awards selected by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID). The Cavalier duo of Dominic Inglot and Sanam Singh shared the State Player of the Year honor, while Virginia head coach Brian Boland was named the State Coach of the Year for the fourth straight season, the organization announced on July 1. Virginia Tech’s Luka Somen garnered the VaSID Rookie of the Year honor.

Inglot and Singh both earned ITA All-America honors in 2009. Inglot finished the season ranked No. 15 after reaching as high as No. 6 in the national polls. He was an All-ACC selection with a 24 singles wins and garnered the ACC Tournament MVP accolade. Singh finished the season at 42-7 overall and advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Singles Championships. Along with earning All-ACC honors, Singh was named the MVP of the ITA National Team Indoor Championship. He finished the year ranked No. 21 nationally.
 
Boland won the state coach of the year accolade for the fourth straight season after being named the ACC and ITA Mideast Region Coach of the Year. He guided the Cavaliers to an impressive 32-1 mark and a quarterfinal appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Virginia was ranked No. 1 nationally for 10 weeks. Boland also led UVA its second straight ITA National Team Indoor Championship as well as its third straight ACC Tournament crown. Somen was the ACC Freshman of the Year after leading Virginia Tech with 24 singles wins on the season.
 
Inglot and Singh headlined the VaSID First Team choices, joining teammate Michael Shabaz on the squad. Radford senior Martin Sayer joined Inglot as the only repeat selection on the All-State first team. William and Mary junior Keziel Juneau and Old Dominion senior Aleksandr Seleznev rounded out the first team singles choices. On the doubles side, Virginia had a pair of teams honored on the first team as Inglot and Shabaz along with the team of Singh and Houston Barrick garnered the honor. Seleznev and Tobias Fanselow of Old Dominion were the final doubles team selected to the first team.
 
Virginia Tech led the way on the second team with senior Nicolas Delgado de Robles and junior Yoann Re earning all-state honors. Barrick coupled his first team selection in doubles with a second team showing in singles. VCU junior Thibaut Charron, William and Mary sophomore Sebastien Vidal and Fanselow of Old Dominion rounded out the All-State second team in singles. The All-State doubles second team was comprised of the William and Mary team of Juneau and Vidal, the VCU tandem of Emil Lindgren and Benjamin Bouhana and the Radford pairing of Sayer and Zack Watson.
