VaSID Announces
Women's Lacrosse All-State Team
Appelt and Myers repeat as Player, Coach of the Year
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The Virginia Sports Information
Directors Association (VaSID) have announced the 2005
All-State lacrosse teams, University Division, and the
University of Virginia swept the Player and the Coach of the
Year Awards, as Amy Appelt repeated as State Player of the
Year while Julie Myers earned the Coach of the Year Award
again.

Division Women's Lacrosse All-State Team
The Cavaliers led all schools with six players on the first
team and three players on the second team. James Madison had
two players named on the first team and was the only other
school to have multiple honorees on the first team, and the
Dukes also claimed three players on the second team for five
total honorees. William & Mary and George Mason both had three
selections between the two teams, while Longwood, Old
Dominion, Richmond, and Virginia Tech each had one
student-athlete recognized.
Appelt was a first-team All-American for the third consecutive
year, and she was a finalist for the 2005 Tewaaraton Trophy
and the Honda Sports Award for the second consecutive year.
She led the Cavaliers in scoring and ranked in the top five in
the nation in scoring as well. A member of the USA Elite Team,
Appelt was selected to the World Cup Training Squad.
All-State teams are selected by active members of the Virginia Sports Information Directors
