2007 VaSID College Division Men's Tennis All-State Team

James, from Mt. Kisco, NY, was named an ITA All-American this season. In the fall, he won the ITA regional and in the spring advanced to the second round of the NCAA singles tournament. James set a UMW school record with 27 victories at the #1 singles position. He was names the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-CAC. This is the second year James has been named to the All-State team.

Detwiler, in his seventh season as head coach at Washington & Lee, led the Generals to a school record 20 wins this season. The Generals won their 12th straight ODAC title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the seventh straight year. Detwiler was named ODAC Coach of the Year and ITA Atlantic-South Region Coach of the Year.

All-State teams are selected by active members of the Virginia Sports Information Directors Association.  Although VaSID has been awarding All-State teams since the 1982-83 school year, this is only the second men's tennis All-State team.  For more information, please visit the VaSID site at
