Ferrum Blanks Mary Baldwin 9-0 in Women's Soccer
FERRUM, Va. -- Freshman Jessica Lively posted a rare hat trick
to help Ferrum College shut out Mary Baldwin College 9-0 in USA
South Athletic Conference women's soccer action today.

Lively's hat trick is only the 12th time in the Ferrum women's
soccer history that a player has recorded three or more goals in a
match.
The last person to notch a hat trick for Ferrum was Carlyn Kubler
in a 6-1 win over the College of Staten Island on September 17,
2005.
Susan Sautter '95 holds the record for career hat tricks with three,
all recorded during the 1995 season.
Hillary Wagar '99 has two career hat tricks.
Junior Sarah Palastro had a pair of goals today, including the
game-winner 7:52 into the match. Freshman Lea
McMillan had a goal and two assists, while senior Stephanie Perih
and freshman Natalie Olson each had a goal.
Senior Corinne
Musanti and freshman LaQQuinta Garrett had were each credited with
an assist.
Freshman goalkeeper Katie Hodkinson registered her first career
shutout at Ferrum, posting two saves. Ferrum out-shot 25-3.
The win improves Ferrum to 2-4-1, 1-0 in the USA South. Mary
Baldwin falls to 1-5 with the loss, 0-1 USA South. The
Panthers return to action Saturday, Sept. 22 when they face
Methodist College at home in another league match. Game time
is set for 4 p.m.
