Volleyball Wins Sixth Straight

FERRUM, Va. -- Senior Mindy Altice had 22 kills and 12 digs, helping Ferrum College pick up a 3-1 volleyball win at home tonight over visiting Eastern Mennonite University.  Game scores for the non-conference match were 30-20, 28-30, 30-16, 30-23.

Sophomore Jessica Flanagan had 14 kills and 13 digs, while senior Jessica Walker had 27 assists to go with nine digs and seven kills.  Junior Lauren Thurman had 15 digs, and junior Jessica Washburn had 15 assists

The Panthers extended their win streak to six matches, beginning Sept. 9 with a 3-0 win over Sweet Briar College and and a 3-1 win over Randolph College, both at the Roanoke College Invitational in Salem, Virginia.

Ferrum improves to 8-5 with tonight's win.  The Panthers return to action Wednesday, Sept. 19, against reigning USA South Athletic Conference champion Averett University in Danville, Virginia.  Ferrum thus far is 3-0 in league play.
