Yeatts Honored by USA South

FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College freshman runner Peyton Yeatts (Lynchburg, Va./EC Glass) has been named Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week by the USA South Athletic Conference.

Yeatts finished 89th in a field of  124 runners at the Generals Cross Country Invitational, hosted September 8 in Lexington by Washington & Lee University.  Yeatts covered the 8K course in a time of 37:22.  For team scoring purposes, Yeatts finished 67th officially.

Ferrum's men finished 12th among 13 teams at its season-opening race under second-year Head Coach Robert Knotts.  The Panther women also placed 12th of 13 teams at the Generals Invitational. 

Ferrum returns to action Saturday, September 22, at the Maroon Classic, hosted by Roanoke College.
