Ferrum Women Pick Up First Win
EMORY, Va. -- The Ferrum College women's basketball team picked up
its first win of the season, an 87-44 romp over Emory & Henry
College on the road.

Senior Ali Davenport had 12 points in just 15 minutes of play, while
junior Miranda Carrasco had 12 points in 19 minutes. Davenport
was 5-7 from the floor, as the Panthers shot 61% for the game.
Freshmen Brittany Bullock and Kierra Parker had 11 points each for
the Panthers. Bullock added six rebounds. Sophomore
Tonya Wright and freshman Rachel Dall added nine points each.
Ferrum (1-5) led 50-24 at halftime. The Panthers held Emory &
Henry (3-3) to 21% shooting for the game. The Wasps were led
by Krista Haynes and Ashton Kaylor, who had eight points each.
Ferrum closed out first semester action with the win. Coach
Bryan Harvey's team returns to action Jan. 3 when it hosts
Bridgewater College in a non-conference game.
The Panthers will begin USA South Athletic Conference play Jan. 8 at
Mary Baldwin College, looking to defend the league crown they won a
year ago.
