Ferrum's Mike Vann Named Virginia Small College Football Rookie of the Year

FERRUM, Va. -- The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) have named Ferrum College freshman running back Mike Vann (Woodbridge, Va./Potomac) the 2007 Rookie of the Year on its College Division Football Al-State Team.

Vann rushed for 730 yards and nine TDs on 77 carries, averaging 9.5 yards per carry.  He also had 280 yards and two TDs on 14 receptions, averaging 14 yards per catch. 

Vann also had 424 yards and a TD on 14 kickoff returns.  Vann had 1434 yards and 12 TDs this season as a freshman.

Van was named the 2007 USA South Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year.  He earned All-Conference first team at running back and All-Conference second team as a return specialist.
