Davenport Named Player of the Week

FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College senior Ali Davenport (Baton Rouge, La./Runnels) has been named Women's Basketball Player of the Week by the USA South Athletic Conference.

Davenport had 12 points, three steals and two rebounds in an 87-44 win over Emory & Henry College Dec. 4 on the road.  Davenport shot 5-of-7 from the floor.

Davenport is Ferrum's leader in both scoring (13.8 ppg) and rebounding (8.5 rpg).  She was a first-team All-Conference selection in the USA South last season.  This is Davenport's first Player of the Week honor this season.

Ferrum (1-5) returns to action on January 3 at home against Bridgewater College.  The non-conference game will be Ferrum's home-opener.
