Vann Named Rookie of the Year
FERRUM, Va. -- Freshman RB
Mike Vann (Woodbridge, Va./Potomac) has
been named the 2007 USA South Athletic Conference Football Offensive
Rookie of the Year.
2007 USA South Football All-Conference Team
Vann was one of three Ferrum players named to the league's
All-Conference first team. Joining him are FB
Matt Lucas
(Leesburg, Va./Heritage) and DL
Shaun Green
(Paisley, Fla./Umatilla).
Vann rushed for 730 yards and nine TDs on 77 carries, averaging 9.5
yards per carry. He also had 280 yards and two TDs on 14
receptions, averaging 14 yards per catch. Vann also had 424
yards and a TD on 14 kickoff returns. Vann had 1434 yards and
12 TDs this season as a freshman.
Lucas rushed for 424 yards and three TDs on 109 carries. Green
had 47.5 tackles, including 12 tackles for loss and eight sacks.
Vann made the All-Conference second team as a return specialist.

to the 2007 USA South All-Sportsmanship Team.
Ferrum
closed out the 2007 season at 5-5 overall this year under
14th-year Head Coach Dave Davis. The Panthers' 4-3 league
placed them tied for third in the league's standings.
